First of all, we'd like to thank all the dealers who showed up for the dealer's meeting last week. This was the first of what we hope will be several meetings held throughout the year. It's important for us to know how you are feeling about the mall and what, if anything, we can do to improve it. We appreciate all of your feedback and suggestions. Thanks again.
One of the things that was discussed at the meeting was the benefit of placing up to 5 items on sale at all times in our dealer spaces. The general consensus is that this might stimulate business. We agree.
But in order for this to work dealers must make a committment. And that committment is that you will need to come down to the store atleast once a week to either remove the tags, or place them on different items. We do not want to have 'stale' SALE items sitting in your booths week after week. That dilutes the effect of what we are trying to accomplish. . .more sales and more money in your pockets.
Another thing that was discussed was the redesigning of our SALE signs. No more 8 x 10 signs plastered all over the store during a sale. I will be designing smaller signs. . .regular 'SALE' signs' and 'This week ONLY' signs for your use. They'll be available at the front desk soon. Please remember, however, that using them means that YOU (and not us) will be responsible for rotating your sale items and keeping your sale items fresh.
We will be having our annual open house on Dec. 11 & 12. There will be refreshments and the store will be decorated for the holidays. As always you're welcome (and encouraged) to bring in a special veggie dip or cracker spread.
This event will NOT be a storewide SALE. During this open house, you may place up to five items on sale. We want to see whether this new strategy works. Your participation in this limited sale is, as always, optional. Let us know if you want to participate and be sure to pick up the new sale signs at the front desk.
At this time of year, security concerns are foremost in our minds, moreso than normal. There are shoppers, who, for various reasons seem to feel that this is the time of year to make 'gifts' of our items. . .without paying for them. We are especially aware of this situation and will continue to be as vigilant as possible. Any dealers wishing to give of their time and stop in for a few hours during the holiday season would be welcomed with open arms.
